Penang are determined to win their second game at home this season, in order to further strengthen their position in the Malaysia Super League (MSL) when Perak visits the Bandaraya Stadium in Georgetown tonight.
The Panthers have collected four points from three games in the league this season and head coach Jacksen F. Tiago has not been impressed with the team’s current form.
Pulau Pinang captain Rafiuddin Roddin was impressed with his side’s determination to defeat Pahang 4-1 after losing the opening game of the MSL to Terengganu 1-0.
However, the 2-2 draw with Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) on Saturday upsetted the players because they were keen on gaining all three points, which they aim to achieve tonight.
“The main focus is to collect three points when we face Perak. We have the ability to win because the chemistry in the team is increasing as we are learning from our mistakes.
“The opportunity to win will be there if the players take their chances during the game. In addition, we cannot afford to concede goals,” Rafiuddin said as quoted by Harian Metro.
Rafiuddin is confident that Osas Saha, Faizat Ghazli and Faiz Subri will strike fear to their opponents whereas youngsters Jafri Firdaus Chew and S. Kumaahran can cause a surprise.
