It’s time to focus on the junior shuttlers – BAM’s Morten Frost

The junior shuttlers have been making the pages and trending non-stop for this couple of weeks and to level up the hype, technical director of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), Morten Frost claimed that there is already a plan set up for the young players.

With their brilliance at the Badminton Asia Team Championship (BATC) in Hyderabad, India, the players have completely pulled off an upset by proving themselves to be worth more than just rookies. In fact these players could just be the ones to lift up the nation’s name in glory in the future.

According to Frost, this is the best time to focus on the juniors as there is only less than three months for the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup.

“The approach will be interesting and we’ve always had a plan for these younger players,” said Frost as quoted from Harian Metro.

“In fact, it’s not only us that are starting to focus on the juniors, countries like China and South Korea are starting to do the same thing.”

Based on their performances in Hyderabad, Frost admits that the men’s team performed better than the women. However, such may change in time.

“We’re not machines. We’re ordinary human beings and there are times that we perform good and there are times where we do not.”

“They need to keep training harder and hope for a better performance later on.”
