Southern Tigers’ midfielder, Safiq Rahim has described the phenomenal strike by Mohd Faiz Subri as something that is ‘out of this world.’
The Penang footballer, now an internet sensation, scored the wonderful goal from a free kick in the Malaysian Super League (MSL) fixture against Pahang last Tuesday.
“What I saw was an exceptional goal crafted beautifully by Faiz. It was outstanding. I really hope Faiz maintains his technique for years to come,” he told Berita Harian.
“Sometimes, players are gifted with certain talent. It’s a trait they have. So they have to hone their skills and make full use of their own extraordinary abilities.
Since scoring the goal, Faiz has gone viral on social media. Penang FA organized a special press conference yesterday, in which they announced that the jersey he wore during the game would be auctioned off.
Faiz also went on to say that his goal was no fluke, before Penang FA Assistant Manager Nazim Ariff confirmed it; revealing that Faiz spends 15 minutes on free-kick practice every day.
