The Football Association of Selangor (FAS) is currently working on a prospects of establishing a partnership with 18-times Serie A champions, Inter Milan.
Inter Milan have won the UEFA Champions League three times, with the last being in 2010 under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, who led them a treble-winning season.
Selangor manager Amirudin Shari said that the joint venture with Inter will be establishing a few aspects that will prioritize elements involving coaching and training modules, which will be implemented by the Red Giants.
However, everything is still in the early stages and further discussions will be conducted in the upper levels of FAS.
“A representative from Inter Milan will make his way here (FAS) to discuss the groundwork of our joint venture,” Amirudin said as reported by Harian Metro.
“We were happy to hear of this move, as Inter Milan is one of the most successful clubs in European football history.
“Based on preliminary discussions, they want to foster a relationship in the development on football in Selangor. We are still undergoing evaluations and have not officially released a statement,” he added.
If the plans fall into place, Selangor will be looking to follow the footsteps of the Super League and AFC Cup champions, Johor Darul Takzim (JDT), who is currently working together with German giants, Borussia Dortmund.
“At the same time, we are currently meeting representatives from clubs in England and Germany,” he concluded.
