Kedah will be taking on Selangor in the final of the Malaysia Cup after both sides sealed emphatic wins in the second leg of their semi-final tie, yesterday.
The Canaries drew 2-2 against Felda United in the first leg, but Syamim Yahya broke the deadlock for Felda United in Alor Setar yesterday, shocking the legion of home fans. But Chidi Edeh restored parity on the 43rd minute, before Sandro Da Silva made it 2-1 in the second half to complete a resounding win for the Premier League champions.
Selangor on the other hand, claimed a 2-0 win over Pahang to progress into the final of the prestigious tournament. With the first leg being 0-0, Selangor knew that they needed to score in the corresponding fixture – precisely what they did through Guilherme de Paula on the 10th minute.
But Pahang continued to push for a comeback and the match ended up being rather nervy, up until Nazmi Faiz bought Selangor some breathing space in the second half, scoring on the 53rd minute to make it 2-0. The score line remained as Selangor kept their hopes of clinching their 33rd Malaysia Cup title, alive.
The final will take place at the Shah Alam Stadium on the 12th of December, with kick off slated for 8.45 PM.
