The entirety of Johor is mourning today after it was confirmed that Tunku Laksamana Johor, Tunku Abdul Jalil passed away aged 25, yesterday.
Tunku Jalil, who is the fourth of six children of Sultan Ibrahim and Permaisuri of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris, had been battling liver cancer for a considerable amount of time and even underwent liver transplant in China recently.
Unfortunately, he succumbed to the battle last night, passing away at 7.11 PM at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bharu.
After the announcement of his demise, tributes started flowing in from all over the country. But arguably the most compelling one came from his brother, Tunku Ismail as well as the entire Johor DT establishment.
Tunku Ismail posted an emotional tribute via JDT’s official website: “To my beloved brother… Out of all the sleepless nights, tonight is the most difficult for me. We all love and miss you so much. You have been the one who always puts a smile on our faces. You are our strength and inspiration. You have the one quality that none of us possess; your humble, loving heart. I love you with all my heart and I miss you dearly. You will never be forgotten. Your name will be carried by my bloodline. Your smile will be my strength. May Allah bless you, little brother. Love you always.”
Johor DT went on to announce earlier today, that they would be suspending all news updates regarding the team for the next seven days, as they mourn the passing Tunku Jalil.
