Terengganu FA have officially completed the signing of three new players to boost their squad for next year’s calendar of Malaysian football.
The Turtles have snapped up Amiridzwan Taj from Kelantan, Joseph Kalang Tie from Sarawak as well as Yong Kuong Yong from Penang FA and all the individuals officially penned their contracts in a ceremony that was held in Kuala Terengganu earlier today.
Amiridzwan Taj is widely recognized as one of the more consistent defenders in Malaysia and he was a regular fixture at the heart of Kelantan’s defence. But their ongoing financial issues made it easier for Terengganu to step in and offer him a deal for 2016.
Joseph Kalang Tie on the other hand, will be returning to a club that he last featured for in 2012. The ex-Sarawak skipper has incredible work-ethic on the pitch and will almost certainly bring stability into the Terengganu squad.
Yong Kuong Yong was pivotal to Penang FA’s good run in the Malaysian Premier League last year – in which they secured promotion into the Super League for 2016. He primarily features as a defender, but is equally capable of playing on the flanks, in a more forward role.
Terengganu’s decision to act swiftly in signing players certainly represents a statement of intent from a side that will be looking to challenge for titles as well as close the gap on Johor DT in 2016.
