Borussia Möchengladbach’s goalkeeper Yann Sommer certainly is ‘hard-headed’.
The Swiss keeper was said to have ‘taken one for the team’ before their match with Hoffenheim that ultimately came to a draw of 3-3.
Sommer was seen running pre-match warm-ups with club icon and goalkeeping coach Uwe Kamps just before the game. Things were going smoothly before Kamps fired a strong one and struck Sommer in the face! The 28 year-old, who was caught off guard, spun around and fell quite fashionably before recovering and stretched out his facial muscles.
It looked like a painful blow and it might have gave him a headache but it doesn’t seem to be a trouble for Sommer. Take a look at the video posted by the Bundesliga’s official account.
Literally, in your face Yann Sommer. Ouch.
