T-Team have confirmed the signing of former Persib Bandung player Makan Konaté ahead of next year’s Malaysian Premier League season.
The 24 year-old attacking midfielder has been drafted in by their new Indonesian head coach, Rahmad Darmawan, as they prepare to challenge for the MPL title and and get promoted into the Super League.
“We are pleased to welcome Rahmad and his new players. Makan Konaté has agreed to play with T-Team and he has signed a one-year contract,” T-Team’s Chief Operating Officer, Mohd. Shahrizan Mohd Zain told Berita Harian.
“He is expected to join our training session early next month,” Shahrizan added.
Konaté will be joined by Malian defender Abdoulaye Maiga, who will replace the late David Oniya, at the heart of their defence.
Konaté was previously the top scorer for Persib, scoring 14 goals en route to helping them win the 2014 Indonesian Super League title. Meanwhile Maiga played for Sriwijaya in 2014 and was part of the Mali national squad which competed in the 2010 African Cup of Nations.
