Persib Bandung striker Makan Konate has confirmed that he is currently in talks with an undisclosed Malaysian side over a potential move that would see him play in the MSL next year.
The 24 year-old attacking midfielder has reportedly been offered a lucrative deal by the particular Malaysian side and he’s keen on accepting it, considering the uncertaincy surrounding Indonesian football at this juncture.
“I spoke to my agent and he expressed his concern, since the Indonesian league hasn’t started yet. I don’t mind staying here, but I can’t be in this situation for too long. I have to make a decision,” he told Persib Bandung media.
“We are still negotiating, so I can’t really name the club for now. I’m waiting for a confirmation from my agent as well as the Persib management.
“I’m close to my Persib teammates, the fans and even the media. I feel comfortable living here, this team is like a family to me. If they want me to come back in future, I will definitely do so, without a doubt,” he added.
Konate signed for Persib at the end of 2013, after doing well with Barito Putera – scoring 6 goals in 14 appearances.
Since joining Persib, Konate has grown in stature – becoming the top goalscorer with 13 goals in 2014 – by inspiring them to the Indonesian Super League title. He was also part of the Persib squad which recently lifted the President Cup by beating Sriwijaya in the final.
