National shuttler Zulfadli Zulkifli is through to the third round of the Korea Gold GP, which is being held at the Jeonju Indoor Badminton Court in South Korea.
The 22-year-old beat Riichi Takeshita from Japan in straight sets, winning 21-15, 21-10, to book his spot in the next round of the competition.
Zulfadli remains the only Malaysian representative, after the Soo Teck Zhi and Iskandar Zulkarnain were both sent packing in the second round.
Soo Teck Zhi suffered a frustrating defeat against Indonesia’s Muhammad Bayu while Iskandar was edged out of a close battle against Japan’s Yoseo Yamaguchi.
Meanwhile, men’s doubles pair Kah Ming-Yao Han were also knocked out of the tournament after losing to 4th seeds Li Junhui-Liu Yuchen from China, while Low Juan Shen-Ong Yew Sin lost to China’s Huang Kaixiang-Wang Siljie.
