Ridzwan Rahmat and Misbun Syawal grabbed their second international tournament as they clinched the men’s doubles title at the Morocco International Badminton Championship 2015 in Casablanca, yesterday.
The young duo, who are under the tutelage of Nusa Mahsuri Badminton Club, defeated the Jordanian shuttlers, Bahaedeen Ahmad Al Shannik and Mohd Naser Mansour Nayef 21-17, 21-8 in a match that lasted 42 minutes.
This comes after both Ridzwan and Misbun Syawal beat the exact same opponents in the Egypt International Badminton Championship 2015 last week.
Nusa Mahsuri coach Salim Samion said he is pleased with the performance of his boys and hopes that their progression continues in the next few months.
“I’m happy with their achievements. I hope it will be the start of the Ridzwan and Syawal dominance for years to come,” he told Arena Metro yesterday.
“In the final, I noticed both of them giving too much space to the opponent in the first set.
“But things changed in the second set when they used the opponent’s weaknesses by trying to play in a high tempo match and managed to produce a better performance,” he added.
