Malaysian Moto2 ace Hafizh Syahrin is hoping for a top five finish in the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang this Sunday.
The Petronas Raceline Malaysia rider remains optimistic about his chances, despite picking up two minor injuries duringt the Italian GP as well as the USA GP earlier this month.
“This week is a very important race to me because I want to do my best for the team and make Malaysia proud of my achievement. I want to be in the top five and if I managed to go to the podium, it’s a bonus.
“The weather is not an issue to me, I don’t mind racing in bad weather, but what is important is having a good bike that can race well in a bad condition.
“It’s not going to be easy for sure, there’s a lot of experienced riders this time and anything can happen in the race,” he told Utusan Malaysia at the Petronas Talent Day Programme in Balakong Jaya, today.
Hafizh who emerged through the Petronas Talent Programme in 2012 created history by finishing third in the Moto2 category at the 2012 edition at the Sepang International Circuit despite competing on a wildcard.
Hafizh is currently ranked 18th in the overall Moto2 Rider’s standing with 56 points.
