National bodybuilder Sazali Samad’s chances of claiming his 11th Mr. Universe title looks slim with his recent injury crisis.
What worries Sazali more is a torn muscle at the back of his body, reported to be as long as two centimeters.
“This has just been confirmed last week. For now, I’m waiting for further instructions from National Sports Council (NSC)’s doctors.”
“I had to reduce my training and give more attention to physio care,” said the 47 year-old, as quoted by Harian Metro.
The latest injury setback will mean that Sazali’s chances of going to the World Championships looks all but gone with four weeks left.
Sazali’s impressive record started in the year 2000 (Malacca). After that he continuously won the Mr. Universe title from 2004-2014. He has also won a record 9 Mr. Asia titles in his career.
