It’s going to be a great week for mixed martial arts fans in Malaysia as the ONE Championship and MIMMA will be taking place on Oct 9 and Oct 10 respectively at Putra Indoor Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
MMA will kick off with One Championship: Tigers of Asia on Friday, the largest professional MMA event in Asia and followed by Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA), the largest amateur MMA event in Malaysia on Saturday.
There will be 12 matches on the ONE Championship fight card and it will be full of excitement as the attention will be on the Middleweight World Championship. While emerging women fighter Ann Osman battles Irina Mazepa, Ev Ting will be up againt Honorio Banario and Peter Davis will fight with Adrian Pang.
Meanwhile MIMMA on Saturday will be entering the Grand Finals that consists of 9 different weight classes which are Flyweight, Bantamweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, Welterweight, Middleweight and Heavyweight and two new weight classes which is the Women’s Pride and Foreign’s Pride.
Darren Low, Seah Zhang Yu and Muhammad Hasrul will be on the spotlight to defend their title as they are regarded as best fighters from MIMMA’s second season.
This year’s edition of MIMMA will be extra special as it will place on the inaugural Hari Sukan Negara (National Sports Day), which should help attract a bigger crowd of local mixed martial arts fans.
