After announcing his resignation as the national team head coach two weeks ago, Dollah Salleh has spoken about his wish to retire from Malaysian football once and for all.
Dollah, 51, stated that he is not considering a return to football, not even to coach in the Malaysia Super League.
According to him, he wants to rest and concentrate on his family, all of whom are based in Shah Alam, Selangor.
“Sorry, I don’t want to think or talk about football anymore. No more questions.”
“It’s true. I want a pension and I want to retire from football,” he told Utusan.
Dollah has been at the centre of criticism after the national team were humiliated 10-0 by United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently, with the defeat being the biggest loss in Malaysian football history.
Nevertheless, 2005 has been Dollah’s best achievement as a coach, with his Selangor team claiming the treble by winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and Malaysia Cup.
Ong Kim Swee has taken over from Dollah as the Malayan Tigers’ head coach, on a temporary basis.
