Shooting guard and current free-agent Ray Allen has not decided on whether he will continue his NBA career, according to a statement his agent Jim Tanner posted on Twitter on Tuesday.
“Ray’s position has not changed. Ray has not decided if he will play this season nor has he signed w/ the Cavs” the tweet read.
With former Heat star LeBron James making the move back to Cleveland this summer, it was widely touted that Allen would join him.
The 39 year old’s uncertainty about his future stems from his age and whether or not he can upkeep his physical condition, the AP reported.
Allen played 19 seasons in the NBA, the most recent of which were with Miami Heat. His accolades include an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics and with Heat, as well as 10 All-Star appearances.
Allen has made more 3-point shots than any player in the history of the NBA, racking up an astonishing 2,973 points.
He has further played in 171 post season games, although whether or not he shall partake in such a ritual before next season remains to be seen. Further developments have not yet surfaced.
