Johor DT skipper Safiq Rahim has rejected talks of them being slotted into an easy group for the upcoming Malaysia Cup.
The Southern Tigers were placed in Group B, alongside Perak FA, ATM FA as well as Sarawak FA. All three teams have had managerial issues this season, which makes Johor DT heavy favourites to progress comfortably.
But as far as Safiq is concerned, they would still be required to give it their all, in order to ensure that they progress into the knockout stages.
“No, it’s not an easy group. There are no easy games in football,” he said.
“Every team in this group can be strong. We would still be required to push hard and play together as a unit, if we want to progress into the knockout stages,” he added.
Safiq was speaking after the Malaysia Cup draw, which was held at the PJ Hilton Hotel earlier today. The full Malaysia Cup draw is available here.
