Lee Chong Wei missed training over the weekend after suffering a minor toe injury, just days before his first round match against
Kestutis Navickas at the Jakarta World Championships.
Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) Morten Frost revealed that he took a knock to his toe, and was thus asked to skip training, though they remain confident that he would be fully fit for his opening match on Tuesday.
“Chong Wei did not attend training due to a minor injury,” Frost told Harian Metro.
“There are no practice sessions for him on the court, but we are confident that he would be fully fit for his first match on Tuesday.
The national badminton squad flew to Jakarta on Thursday and will be opening their World Championship campaign this week.
