As a player, certain qualities will instantly make you a cult hero at a club – determination, passion, flair and namely loyalty – an attribute that Fabian Delph seemed to possess after he told Man City that he would be staying at Aston Villa but that attribute quickly evaporated as he made a dramatic u-turn to join the blue half on Manchester, only six days after his announcement.
Needless to say, this did not sit well with their fans. The first clue that insinuate this is when former fan reacts when you are being stretched off the field:
The second clue to prove that your “betrayal” will be forever engraved in the hearts of your former fans is when you post a photo on Instagram of yourself on your road to recovery,
