Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of sealing a major transfer move this summer, with Bastian Schweinsteiger set to arrive from German side Bayern Munich.
There’s no doubt that much of Man United’s summer speculations have revolved around their hunt for a proven central midfielder, which explains the links to Ilkay Gundogan and Morgan Schneiderlin.
In fact, Schneiderlin was the one name that has constantly been associated with Man United, with Ronald Koeman confirming that a bid was submitted not too long ago, though it did not match Southampton’s valuation of the player.
However, it now appears that Louis van Gaal has switched his attention towards a player that he’s worked with, during his time with the Bavarian side.
The move will reportedly cost them around 20 million pounds and Schweinsteiger will be handed a two-year contract, with an option to extend for one more year.
That being said, there has been no official statements from either party, with some reports claiming that they are yet to agree on personal terms.
Either way, should this move go through, it would be a massive statement of intent from Manchester United, who will be gunning for the Premier League title this season.
