Andy Murray secured his slot in the fourth round of Wimbledon after battling through a shoulder injury to eventually secure a 6-2 6-2 1-6 6-1 win over Andreas Seppi.
The British tennis star came into the match as the overwhelming favourite and he did not disappoint by sealing the first two sets comfortably, winning 6-2, 6-2.
But a shoulder injury started affecting his performance in the fourth set, allowing Seppi to march back into the match and ultimately seal the third set 6-1.
Murray got his shoulder treated right after the fourth set and produced a refreshed performance in the fourth set to clinch it 6-1 and book his spot in the next round.
“It’s something I had the last two, three days. I only really feel it when I’m serving but it’s not something that’s of major concern to me,” Murray said as quoted by the BBC.
“It’s stiffness and every time I finish a practice or anything, I have my back manipulated.
“The physio came on the court and said it was like a machine gun going off when he laid on top of me. Literally my back cracked a lot. That’s been the case for the last few days.”
He will next face Croatian star Ivo Karlovic on Monday.
