Liverpool have been firing on all cylinders, as far as preparing for the new season is concerned. They acted quickly to snap James Milner on a free transfer earlier this month, before also confirming the signature of Danny Ings from Burnley. But fans were always going to be skeptical after their difficult season, with most of them calling for a world class signing.
While they signed two British players, rivals in the form of Man United and Chelsea were continuously linked with big names on foreign soil. United in particular, were being closely linked to Roberto Firmino of Brazil, who plies his trade with Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.
While there were no official statement from United regarding the rumour, fans were confident of seeing the move materialize. Next thing you know, Brendan Rodgers and co swooped in and announced the imminent arrival of Firmino to Anfield. Since then, Liverpool fans from across the globe have heaped praises on the Liverpool board and Ian Ayre in particular, for finally getting a rather encouraging done and dusted.
