In the midst of Malaysia’s struggles at the ongoing SEA Games football competition, there was something for local football fans to get excited about.
The national U13 squad, under the tutelage of the National Football Development Program, is currently playing a series of friendly matches across Germany and Spain.
They have been playing a myriad of matches since the 31st of May, but more recently, they went up against the U13 squad of Germany’s biggest club side, Bayern Munich. And they certainly did prove their mettle, shining throughout the match to secure a 2-1 win on the day.
The victory certainly proves that these boys are on par with some of the best players in the world, within their age category. However, it’ll be interesting to see how these talented Malaysian kids continue developing as players, over the next few years.
