Valtteri Bottas: I’m more than ready for China GP

Williams’ Formula One driver Valtteri Bottas is already looking forward to the China GP after a two-week break allowed him to recover from a back injury that was picked up a month ago.

Bottas missed the Australian GP due to the injury, but while he was back for the Malaysian GP, it caused him plenty of discomfort during the race. However, the 25 year-old Finnish claims that he’s fully recovered now, and that he’s confident of doing well in China this weekend.

“There is much less pressure on the back and now there is a two-week gap between races for a good recovery,“ Bottas was quoted as saying by thecheckeredflag.com

“I am sure in China it will be 100 per cent and no problem in the future,” he added.

Bottas made his official debut during the Malaysian GP, performing admirably to finish in the top 5 during the race. But he thinks that his chances of doing well in China is far higher, due to the structure of the Shanghai Circuit.

“China is a good fun circuit to drive,” said Bottas.

“The long and high-speed corners give it a good character, plus it has a very long back straight which aids overtaking and makes the races more interesting.”
