At a point in time where fair play isn’t exactly at the pinnacle of world football, it’s always refreshing to see footballers believing in those exact values. Al Wehdat player Mahmoud Za’tara is certainly one of those players, who impressed fans around the globe by adopting a rare stance during his side’s AFC Cup clash against Al Nahda.
On the 86th minute, Al Wehdat pushed forward on the offensive, but just as they were preparing to get the ball into the box, a player from the opposition side collapsed with an injury.
The ball was still played nonetheless, leaving Mahmoud one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Instead of hitting the back of the net from close range, Mahmoud opted to kick the ball out of play, to allow the player to receive treatment!
