Perak FA are already looking to sign a new striker during the April transfer window, with Brazilian forward Chad Souza struggling to impress thus far.
While the Seladangs have had a solid start to the season, they haven’t exactly been scoring a lot of goals. And Chad Souza, who was snapped up after his decent goalscoring exploits for PDRM last year, has only netted one goal thus far.
Datuk M. Karathu has been urging the Brazilian to improve his performance on the pitch, but their 0-0 draw against Kelantan last weekend, appears to have been the last straw.
“We don’t have a striker capable of executing opportunities that we’re consistently creating. We definitely need to look for one,” he told Harian Metro.
“We could have won the game against Kelantan, if we had converted the myriad of chances that were created throughout the game, especially in the last 15 minutes. It would have been different had Namkung Woong been fit to play in the game.”
Though he was unhappy with Chad’s inability to find the back of the net, Karathu was equally quick in singing praises of his team’s efforts against Kelantan, claiming that they did well to preserve their unbeaten record in the league.
“Most importantly, we remain undefeated after that game, especially on home soil. It would have been bad if had lost the game at home.
“You’ve got to be aware of the fact that Kelantan are a solid team with experienced players. Perak have plenty of youngsters in the team and they are still learning every day.”
