Exclusive: I’m looking forward to my Pahang debut – Saarvindran

Pahang forward D. Saarvindran is looking forward to finally making his debut for Pahang in approximately one months’ time as he prepares to conclude his recovery from a serious injury.

The former Harimau Muda A player been out of action for almost six months, though the Tok Gajahs still pursued his signature during the off-season. He’s been observing them from the touch lines so far this season, but the speedy attacker is determined to make amends for his absence, as soon as he returns to the pitch next month.

“I want to get on the pitch and I’ll be able to do so in one month,” he told FourthOfficial.com

“I still need to strengthen my legs and get back to full fitness, but I will be back on the bench real soon. The team has been doing great and they are improving game after game.

“I’ve certainly enjoyed watching them play, but at the same time, I want to get play on the field as soon as I can,” he added.

While he hasn’t been involved with the on-pitch action, Saarvindran is already assimilating into the squad, and he has certainly been impressed by the level of quality present within the team. At the same time, the 22 year-old also sang praises of head coach Zainal Abidin Hassan; citing him to be the ‘coolest’ head coach he’s worked with.

“There’s so much of quality in the team, especially with players like Azamuddin Akil, Dickson Nwakaeme, Hafiz Kamal and Gopinathan.

“At the same time, Zainal Abidin is the coolest coach I’ve worked with. He’s definitely strict, when it comes to business but outside the field, he’s extremely friendly.

I’ve never felt like a newcomer with Pahang, even from the first day. He has treated me extremely well so far, and I’m grateful for that,” Saarvindran added.

Pahang FA are currently 10th on the Super League table, following a topsy-turvy start to their season. However, the Tok Gajahs have won their last two matches; beating Johor DT in the FA Cup, before defeating Sime Darby last weekend.
