Paris 2024 Olympics: Simone Biles caps off Paris 2024 Olympics with silver

Simone Biles, who had earlier missed the podium in the balance beam event, concluded her journey at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Monday by winning a silver medal in the floor final.

After helping Brazil win the bronze in the team event and taking silver in the all-around and vault competitions, Rebeca Andrade defeated the star of Team USA to earn her first gold of the Paris Games.

After successfully challenging her score, Biles’s countrywoman Jordan Chiles won bronze, moving Romanian competitor Ana Barbosu down to fourth.

At the 2024 Games, Biles had previously placed outside the medal positions for the first time in the beam competition. Her fall cost her the gold, which was won by Italy’s Alice d’Amato.

After tumbling off the beam at the end of Monday’s final, Biles, who had previously won gold in the team, all-around, and vault competitions, finished sixth.

After her routine, Biles seemed to be frustrated with the audience, putting her finger to her ear and asking why the majority of people there had remained silent.

Now, Biles has won 11 medals total from the Games, including 7 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze.

The Soviet Union’s eighteen-medal winning gymnast Larisa Latynina is the most accomplished female athlete in Olympic history.
