Leny Yoro, a defender for Lille, is travelling to the UK for a Manchester United medical.
The teams last week reached an agreement on a transaction worth over £50m. Yoro’s preference was believed to be Real Madrid, but United has been trying to persuade him to sign.
Although the contract is not yet finalised, personal details have been agreed upon in principle.
United, though, is now certain they can complete the move.
Both Matthijs de Ligt of Bayern Munich and Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton are players that United still likes and are possibilities, provided that the squad space and finances are available as the transfer market progresses.
