Euro 2024 playoffs: What is at stake in tonight’s Euro 2024 playoffs?

The final round of the Euro 2024 play-offs is underway, with six teams (including Wales) competing for three spots in Germany this summer. This is everything you should know.

Who made it to the play-off finals for Euro 2024?

Wales will play Poland in the championship match in Path A after Rob Page’s team defeated Finland 4-1 and the Poles crushed 10-player Estonia 5-1.

Path B saw Ukraine pull off an incredible comeback victory away from Bosnia-Herzegovina to advance to the final against Iceland, who defeated Israel 4-1 with 10 players. Due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Poland is hosting Ukraine’s games, including that tie.

Georgia will host Greece in Path C in hopes of qualifying for the Euros.

The finals will all take place on Tuesday, March 26.

At that point, the schedule for every group match and the identities of all 24 Euro 2024 competitors will be known.

If Wales can defeat Poland, they’ll play in Group D at Euro 2024. They would then face Austria, the Netherlands, and France.

Ukraine or Iceland, the winners of Play-off Path B, will advance to Group E and play Belgium, Slovakia, and Romania in the Euros.

Georgia or Greece, the winners of Play-off Path C, have been picked to join Group F alongside Portugal, Turkey, and the Czech Republic.

When and where will Euro 2024 take place?

The dates of Euro 2024 are set for Friday, June 14 to Sunday, July 14.

Germany is the host country and thus automatically qualified. The competition was last held in West Germany in 1988, however this will be Germany’s first time hosting the European Championship following reunification.

How did teams reach the Euro 2024 play-offs?

The top four Nations League teams from Leagues A, B, and C qualified for the play-offs after failing to qualify for Euro 2024.

In each path, the fourth-ranked side was hosted by the best-ranked side, while the third-ranked side was hosted by the second-ranked side.

A draw was used to select the finals host cities.

Thirty minutes of extra time will be played if matches are tied after ninety minutes, and if needed, penalties will be taken.
