Barcelona and Osasuna played out their Supercopa de Espana (Spanish Supercup) semi final last night at the Al-Awwal Stadium.
Both sides were frustrated in the first half as shots were put wide or straight in the keeper’s arms.
14 minutes after the second half kicked off, Robert Lewandowski shot with his right foot from the center of the box to the lower left corner of the goal after a brilliant through ball from midfielder Ilkay Gundogan to put the Catalan side 1-0 up.
Fouls and substitutions never really allowed the game to get into full swing but in the 93rd minute, Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal placed a left footed shot in the bottom corner to seal the deal for the Catalans.
Barça will face off against rivals Real Madrid in the final at the Al-Awwal Stadium, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Monday, 15th January.
This year the Supercopa de Espana is being played in Saudi Arabia due to the gulf nation trying to become a sporting powerhouse by attracting as many eyes to the country with big names and events. The clubs are also getting paid and covered by the Saudi government.
