Some days you sit and wonder why would footballers require military training, especially after Gareth Southgate took his boys to the Royal Marines’ base camp before their matches against Scotland and France earlier this month.
But last night, after England U-21 lost yet another penalty shoot-out, you can’t help but feel it’s warranted. So much has been said about England and their struggles with penalty shoot-outs, so you can’t really blame Southgate for thinking that a trip to the Royal Marines could boost their mental strength in dealing with pressure.
We’ve seen pictures of their trip and they were brilliant. But the Royal Marines have gone one step further by releasing two video clips of England players underdoing commando training. The first one is attached above, the other one is attached below!
