The Selangor government is considering a number of options to fix the state of Selangor football, including turning PKNS FC into their own version of Johor Darul Takzim (JDT).
According to a report by Berita Harian, the state government is considering the option of remodelling PKNS by using the JDT model, if Football Association of Selangor (FAS) fails to cooperate in developing long-term plans.
“We want to develop a comprehensive plan so the state football team doesn’t need to depend on the state government, as much as they used to do before this,” Amirudin told Berita Harian.
“The plan is being drafted and is expected to be presented in a month,” he added.
This comes as Selangor FA continue to be beleaguered with multiple issues, including a financial crisis, despite the new Malaysia Super League season being days away from kick-off.
The Red Giants will be hosting Penang FC this weekend, as PKNS travel to Jengka to face Felda United FC.
