OFFICIAL: Kelantan and T-Team docked six points over unpaid wages

Malaysia Super League (MSL) teams Kelantan and T-Team have been docked six points each from the current season for failing to pay their players’ salaries before the end of March.

Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) CEO Kevin Ramalingam warned the teams that they had until last Friday to settle the outstanding amount worth RM5 million.

According to the FMLLP boss, newly-appointed Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim supported the punishments as well.

“The teams that have not settled their players’ wages will not be able to register new players, unless they earn revenue from the decrease of players,” he said as quoted by Sinar.

“If the teams fail to comply with us by the end of October, they will be relegated.”

Apart from Kelantan and T-Team, Malaysia Premier League (MPL) sides Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM FA) and Perlis have been docked six points from their current standings.

Two years ago, Pahang were handed the same punishment as they were docked six points after being found guilty of failing to fulfil their financial obligations with a former player.
