Malaysia have been handed a tricky path to qualify for the 2019 Asian Cup after they were paired with North Korea, Hong Kong and Lebanon in Group B.
Harimau Malaysia were put into pot 4 after the latest FIFA rankings were announced as they narrowly lost out getting put into pot 3 where their rank remains unchanged at 161st.
Malaysia played Hong Kong in three friendlies in 2012 and 2015 where they won one and drawn twice while they have not faced Lebanon and North Korea before in a competitive game in recent years.
The last time Malaysia was in the Asia Cup was in 2007 when they were co-hosts with Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam where they finished last in their group.
Malaysia will begin their tough road to the 2019 Asia Cup with an away fixture against North Korea on March 28.
The 2019 Asia Cup will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
