Johor Darul Ta’zim will be traveling to the Darul Makmur Stadium for an away Super League clash against Pahang.
The Southern Tigers will be gunning for their third consecutive league win, having defeated Penang 2-0 (1st of July) and PKNS 1-0 (24th of May) prior to this.
Pahang, on the other hand, have been inconsistent with their performance. The Elephants have only won one out their last five league matches; with two draws and two other defeats.
Led by coach Dollah Salleh, Pahang will be trying everything in their power to clinch 3 points so they can close in on the 9-point gap between them and the Southern Tigers, who are comfortable on top of the table.
JDT, although more consistent in their performance compared to The Elephants, will not underestimate Pahang’s ability to spring a surprise at the Darul Makmur stadium. After all, Pahang made it to the FA Cup final after defeating JDT 3-1 (4-3 on aggregate) in the quarter-finals.
Ulisses Morais, Johor Darul Ta’zim’s head coach, referred to tonight’s clash as “the toughest match in the league”. However, Morais is confident that his boys are ready and will give their 100% tonight.
“We know that tonight’s match will be among the toughest matches in the league this season.” the head coach said in a statement on Johor Southern Tiger’s Facebook page.
“We will give full commitment in the match against Pahang tonight. The players are fully ready and in the best physical and mental conditions. We are aware that Pahang are one of the great teams, but we will do our best to get all three points.”
“I’m confident that our players will be able to stay focused throughout the 90 minutes.” the coach concluded.
