PKNS FC’s star forward Safee Sali will reportedly be out for almost two months due to an injury he picked up last Saturday.
During PKNS FC’s clash against Melaka United, the 33-year-old forward clashed into his opponent and fell on the ground, wincing in pain.
As it turns out, Safee Sali had injured his collar bone and needed immediate medical attention. Unable to continue playing, Safee had to be escorted out, and he was substituted by Bobby Gonzales.
The PKNS forward will need about six to eight weeks to completely recover and get back into training.
Melaka were leading 1-0 until Safee Sali equalized for PKNS FC, dampening Melaka’s hope of clinching three crucial points from the match.

But the club will now have to make do without their star player. The veteran forward will be missing out on some crucial matches due to this injury, including the Malaysia Cup fixtures scattered all over the month of July.
Safee’s absence will definitely be felt, but PKNS FC’s team manager Mahfizul Rusydin Abdul Rashid is positive that head coach Elavarasan can make some tactical changes to make up for Safee’s absence.
“I’m confident that the head coach has an alternative to fill in Safee’s position. We need a tactical change when we’re up against Perak.” Mahfizul Rusydin told Kosmo.
PKNS FC is scheduled to meet Perak tomorrow for the Malaysia Cup fixture.
“We need to be prepared for situations like this. Sometimes players are tired, they get injured, or they get sent off, we need to have other players who can get the job done.”
“In July, our schedule is really packed with Malaysia Cup and Super League fixtures, so that will be tough, the risk of injuries is higher. But we have other players who can step in and play.” he added.
