Cristiano Ronaldo will leave the Confederations Cup to be with his new-born sons

Real Madrid star and Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed the birth of his twin sons.

Cristiano Ronaldo made the shocking announcement on Facebook, while also explaining that he will be leaving the Confederation Cup early so he can spend time with his children.

“I was in the service of the national team, as always, body and soul, even though my two sons were born.” the statement reads.

“Unfortunately, we have not been able to achieve the main sporting objective that we wanted, but I am sure we will continue to give joy to the Portuguese.

“The President of the Portuguese Football Federation and the national selector have today had an attitude that has touched me and I will not forget.”

His decision to leave the tournament means that Cristiano will miss Portugal’s third-place play-off against Germany or Mexico.

The 32-year old forward has become a father for a second time with a surrogate mother, who gave birth to twin sons for the Portuguese star.

Cristiano already has a seven-year-old son, Cristiano Jr. It looks like he is ready to settle down and have a big family together with his new girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez. Rumour has it that Georgina is five-months pregnant, but there is no confirmation on that.
