With only 60 days to go for the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games, Youth and Sports minister YB Khairy Jamaluddin has been busy with his SEA Games squad, getting things sorted out for the big day.
Earlier today, the minister paid an official visit to the ice-rink in Empire City, Damansara, to make sure that the rink in tact and fully-functional for our athletes to start training.
This signals good news for our national athletes, as they have been training at the IOI City Mall public skating rink.
According to athletes Khairil Ridhwan Khalil and Wong De Vin, it has been difficult for them to train in the midst of a crowd in IOI City Mall, and they are looking forward to train at a more suitable venue.
“It’s great if the ice-skating rink in Empire City is ready. We can test the venue and start training, and that’s good news for us athletes.” De Vin told StadiumAstro.
The ice rink at Empire City will host the winter sports like ice hockey, figure skating & speed skating.
