China head coach Marcello Lippi has expressed his satisfaction with Malaysian giants Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) after spending the past few days at their training facility at Padang Seri Gelam.
Marcello Lippi and his squad have conducted training sessions at the club’s training ground since Thursday as they take on Syria in their 2018 World Cup qualifying match tomorrow.
The former World Cup winner was extremely delighted with the quality of the world-class facilities in Johor Bahru and wishes the Malaysia Super League (MSL) winners well in the future.
“I think the training centre is nice and the quality of the pitch is good. I also like the gym, swimming pool and all other facilities over here,” Marcello Lippi said to the Johor Southern Tigers.
“I wish the best of luck to the team and hope they improve much more along the years.
The Italian even compared the professionalism of The Southern Tigers with a former club of his.
“I met the club’s owner (Tunku Ismail) and said that this club can be the Juventus of Malaysia.”
A China loss against Syria tomorrow would prevent them from qualifying for the World Cup.
