If you’re excited about the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games and can’t wait to get your hands on the tickets, we have good news for you.
Malaysian SEA Games Organising Committee (Masoc) chief executive officer Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong has confirmed that the 2017 SEA Games tickets will go on sale right after Hari Raya.
The tickets on sale will not only be for the sporting events, but including the much anticipated opening and closing ceremony for the SEA Games.
According to Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong, only the popular sports events will be ticketed, whereas the less popular ones will be free to attract more crowd.
Among some of the popular sports that will be ticketed are diving, swimming, synchronised swimming, karate, pencak silat, wushu, and football.
“Our main focus are the popular sports, the ones where we have a good chance of winning gold medals. For example, the aquatics, diving, synchronised swimming, and swimming.” BHarian quoted him as saying.
“As for football, if we make it to the semi-final, we’re expecting up to 80,000 people to attend. That is also why need the tickets, to control the crowd. Some venues can only accommodate a certain amount of people. But rest assured the tickets will be reasonably priced.”
“We’re also expecting about 70,000 people to attend the SEA Games opening ceremony at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.”
“We’ve also received a lot of ticket bookings from outside of Malaysia, and we’ll try our best to cater to everyone.” Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong added.
The 2017 KL SEA Games will be happening from 19th August until 31st August.
