Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have confirmed that the pending issue of Frank Bernhardt’s salary has been settled.
The announcement was made by FAM’s secretary-general, Dato’ Haji Hamidin Haji Mohd Amin on FAM’s official Facebook page.
According to Dato’ Hamidin, the salary issue involving former the U-22 squad coach was settled in a special closed-door meeting at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya yesterday.
Dato’ Hamidin added that FAM did not comment on this issue previously to avoid disrupting the negotiation and discussion with Bernhardt.
The settlement and decision made also received consent from FAM President Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, who was did not want to issue to be prolonged.
Frank Bernhardt was discharged from his duties after Tunku Ismail was elected as FAM’s new president end of March.
Bernhardt, who had just gotten back to Malaysia after the Dubai Cup tournament, found out about his termination through the media.
“It’s correct, I heard that from the media. Personally, I’ve no information yet from FAM regarding this matter.” he told the press.
“I believe we will discuss this matter further and to clear some of the statement.” Bernhardt had said.
The national coaching duties for the U-22 football team has been transferred to Datuk Ong Kim Swee, who is currently prepping the team for the upcoming 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games.
