PKNS captain Gonzalo Soto has asked his teammates to perform their best and earn an all-important win against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) tonight before the league comes to a break.
According to the Argentinian, a victory will not only improve their ranking of ninth place in the Malaysia Super League, but also inspire the players for when the league resumes in July. PKNS are currently in ninth place with 11 points, while JDT is on top of the table with six points clear.
“Based on position in the league, it will be difficult to break down the Johor team even though we have the home crowd to our advantage,” Gonzalo Soto said as quoted by Harian Metro.
The Red Ants have not won any of their last five matches. They lost one match and drew the other four. However, they have to try everything in their power to win, or risk dropping into the relegation zone.
“We have to avoid defeat in order from being dropped in the relegation zone,” the captain noted.
“That is why we have to play a good game and earn all three points,” he concluded.
Gonzalo Soto will go up against former teammate Gabriel Guerra during the match.
The Southern Tigers will be hard to defeat because of the club’s form in the league this season, after collecting 27 points from 12 matches. On top of that, new signing Mohammed Ghaddar is expected to be the danger man and pose a huge threat to the home side.
