Malaysia is through to the quarter-finals, after defeating Germany 5-0 in the Group C fixture.
While our badminton king Lee Chong Wei easily defeated Fabian Roth, our mixed doubles team Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing outclassed Mark Lamsfuss-Isabel Herttrich 21-17, 21-13.
Malaysia’s men doubles team Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong also contributed to the win by sinking Jones Ralfy Jansen-Josche Zurwonne 21-16, 21-19.
National shuttler Goh Jin Wei proved herself worthy as her fellow compatriots after she secured victory against Fabienne Deprez 21-10, 21-13.
Women doubles squad Vivian-Khe Wei Johanna also sunk Goliszewski-Isabel 21-12, 21-11.
