Long before joining Kedah, Ken Ilso was already making waves in Fortuna Düsseldorf, a German association football club. He was attached to Fortuna Düsseldorf between 2010 and 2013.
In 2012, during a fixture between Greuther Fürth vs Fortuna Düsseldorf, Ilso scored a wonder free kick to level the score 1-1 for his team on the 29th of April 2012.
