Petaling Jaya Rangers have confirmed the signature of former Felda United youngster Abdul Azim Rahim, in a bid to bolster their squad for the ongoing FAM Cup.
Azim was previously a part of the Fighters’ President Cup squad, and he was widely referred to as the ‘Malaysian Balotelli’ due to his resemblance with the ex-Man City star, which is uncanny to say the least.
But he isn’t the only new name to arrive at the MPPJ Stadium in recent days, with Mat Zan Mat Aris’s outfit also bringing Arip Amiruddin from PKNS, Akmal Ishak from Melaka United and Raphi Azizan from Kedah.
The loan signing of Akmal Ishak in particular can be seen as a massive coup, given that he was playing his trade with JDT II last year. He moved to Melaka United in the off-season, but has struggled for game time this year.
The Rangers have been doing well in Group B of the FAM Cup thus far, sitting on top of the table with five wins from their first seven matches. They are also unbeaten, besides having the best defensive record in the entire tournament.
