Kedah will be relieved to receive the services of midfield maestro Liridon Krasniqi and in-form Rizal Ghazali for the second leg of the FA Cup semi-final against Terengganu on Saturday.
Liridon Krasniqi and Rizal Ghazali were unavailable during the historical 4-4 draw against PKNS at the Shah Alam Stadium on Tuesday because they were both serving suspensions.
The Red Hawks interim head coach Mohd Nidzam Adzha Yusof believes that his side will have the upper hand against Terengganu because it is their main objective to win the FA Cup. However, there are concerns with Mohd Ifwat Akmal Che Kassim’s fitness after the goalkeeper suffered an injury on the 68th minute against PKNS a couple of days ago.
“We are unsure of the seriousness of Ifwat’s injury at the moment. However, I am positive that he will do whatever it takes to feature this weekend,” Nidzam said as quoted by Sinar.
“We will treat this match as a final because it has always been our aim to win the FA Cup. I am willing to put everything on the line in their own home to advance to the finals.
“I am relieved that Liridon and Rizal will both be back to play this Saturday,” he concluded.
Kedah finished the Malaysia Super League (MSL) in third place last season, made it to the semi-final round of the FA Cup and were the eventual winners of the Malaysia Cup. This season, they already have the Charity Shield in their bag and are currently third in the league, with a potential final against Pahang or Negeri Sembilan in the FA Cup.
