Malaysia has suffered another defeat as they fell 1-0 at the hands of Great Britain in their third match of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup at the Azlan Shah Stadium late last night.
The loss means that Malaysia is currently sitting at the bottom of the tournament standings.
The hosts were unfortunate not to get at least a point as they improved their performance from the 6-1 loss to Australia on Sunday, but things just seemed not to go their way. Malaysia came close a number of times through Razie Rahim but Great Britain goalkeeper Harry Gibson was a force to be reckoned with and saved four of his attempts on goal.
The visitors scored the only goal through Alan Forsyth’s penalty corner on the 26th minute.
Malaysia will face a familiar foe (New Zealand) later tonight after facing them a few times in friendlies in preparation for the tournament and India in the final game two days later.
Two wins from their two games will ensure them at least a third place match for the bronze.
