The chances of former Thailand boss Kiatisuk Senamuang becoming the new head coach of the Harimau Malaya squad have plummeted after his wife spoke with Bernama yesterday.
Malaysian fans were eager to get the former Perlis striker on board because of his managerial experience, especially after winning the AFF Suzuki Cup two years in a row.
However, his wife has confirmed that no contact was made by Tunku Ismail and the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), which will definitely break the hearts of many Malaysians.
“There have been no discussions with any team since my husband left his job with Thailand. He is currently working on himself,” Asarapa Senamuang said as quoted by Harian Metro.
“I can safely say that there have been no job offers to date,” she concluded.
Kiatisuk Senamuang, or more commonly known as Zico, left his role as head coach of Thailand after Football Association of Thailand (FAT) president Somyot Poompanmoung was left embarrassed by their performances in the third round of AFC 2018 World Cup qualifying.
Thailand only collected one point from seven group stage matches.
